Uganda Sevens will be without Kabras Sugar winger Philip Wokorach and Nondies winger James Odong for this weekend’s Cape Town 7s in South Africa.

The duo alongside Desire Ayera picked up injuries during last weekend’s Dubai 7s and returned to Uganda on Tuesday as the rest of the team flew to South Africa.

The all played in the match against Kenya, day one’s last match but only Wokorach was available for day two going ahead to be injured in the match against Argentina in the Challenge Trophy quarters on Sunday.

They missed the 13th place playoff against Wales with James Ijongat and Aaron Ofoyrwoth being the only replacements.

Adrian Kasito, Alhajji Manano and Lawrence Sebuliba have since being called to replace them in Cape Town 7s.

Uganda is in pool C with England, Scotland and Argentina and will return to the World stage during the Hong Kong 7s where they will be seeking to qualify for the World Sevens Series as a core team.

Dubai 7s pools:
Pool A: RSA/FRA/RUS/KEN
Pool B: NZL/AUS/ESP/USA
Pool C: ENG/SCO/ARG/UGA
Pool D: FIJ/SAM/CAN/WAL
