Wokorach bags hattrick as Uganda dispatch Tunisia

Kabras Sugar winger Philip Wokorach scored a hat-trick as Uganda beat Tunisia 67-12 in the Africa Gold Cup on Saturday August 4, 2018 in Kampala.

Uganda ran in eight tries, two penalties and seven conversions against Tunisia's two tries and one conversion.

From the win, Uganda pick maximum five points to move to 3rd place in Africa Gold Cup standings. They host Morocco next week before welcoming Zimbabwe on August 18 in the last round of matches.

It was Uganda's first win in the competition after losing 55-6 to Namibia earlier in the season. 

Tunisia drops to fourth ahead of next week's clash with Kenya in Nairobi. 

Joining Wokorach on the scoresheet were centre Michael Wokorach, captain Asuman Mugerwa, Ian Munyani, Masendi and Solomon Okia with Wokorach taking the kicks.

The winner of the competition(2018 Africa Gold Cup) will qualify for Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan as Africa 1, joining reigning champions New Zealand, South Africa, Italy and the repechage winner in Pool B. 

Runners-up, Africa 2, will head to global repechage in November for the last chance to qualify for the World Cup. They will play Canada, Germany and Hong Kong.
