The Bull Ring out in Kakamega is the venue for the highlight of the Championship when log leaders Western Bulls square it out with bitter rivals and fifth placed Masinde Muliro University (MMUST) on Saturday 2 March as the league enters match day 12.
A Bulls - MMUST game is never short of suspense and emotions if the first leg clash between the two is anything to go by. In the opening weekend of the league - on 17 November 2018, MMUST hosted Bulls at their backyard, the latter winning it 15-14.
Activity on the day defined the rivalry between the two. Two red cards were issued out to Bulls captain Treasure Odundo and their former player Venance Shukuba of MMUST bringing the game to a standstill at some point due to fan protestations.
The two were later found liable of foul play by a Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) disciplinary committee and subsequently suspended for four and five weeks respectively. The rulings were however challenged by either side.
The Bulls - MMUST clash is one of six games lined up for the weekend that marks the return of reverse games following the wrap of cross over games.
Second placed Catholic University aka Monks will be home to South Coast Pirates as third placed USIU hosts Egerton Wasps.
Fourth placed Kisumu RFC will take on visiting University of Eldoret at the Kisumu Poly.
Mombasa RFC and Kisii will both be on the road for games against Ng'ong and Kitale, respectively.
