Webuye, Kisii RFC bag Nationwide wins in Western

Webuye RFC came from behind to beat Shieywe RFC 15-10 in the Western Nationwide league match played on Saturday in Webuye.

Shieywe traveled for the game as league leaders having collected two previous wins from as many games.


Captain Arnold Mumoki scored in the second half to bring the hosts back to the game before Byrum Mukhonyi and Allan Wambulwa added the other tries for Webuye's first win of the season.

In Maseno, Alvin Marube scored two tries as high riding Kisii RFC beat Maseno University 28-6 at Maseno grounds.

Edwin Sokoine opened the scoring for the visitors before Marube doubled the lead to send a strong warning to Maseno.

Marube returned again with a try with Mark Onga’yo rounding off the tries for Kisii who have now won all four of their games this season.

Kisumu and Bungoma

Kisumu RFC beat Homabay 21-6 in Homabay with tries from Billy Arege and Bruno Ochieng to make it three wins from as many games.

Across at Kakamega, Bungoma RFC defeated MKU Kakamega by 32-5. It was the first outing for Bungoma this season while for MKU Kakamega it was the fourth game of the season.

Last weekend the team was taken down 32-0 at Shieywe.
