Champions of the third tier league, the Nationwide, will be known in Kakamega on Saturday 19 May when home team MAsinde Muliro University of science and Technology face off with Kitale RFC from 3pm.
As confirmed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) MMUST will host the season-ending Nationwide tie.
The two sides will be seeking bragging rights from that final as they reshape for Championship rugby next season. In a similar final last year, Menengai Oilers beat neighbors Egerton Wasps 18-5 at the NAC, Nakuru to lift the title.
Both MMUST and Kitale qualified for the second tier Championship league last weekend by virtue of winning their regional nationwide semi final duels. While Kitale took down hosts Swara 12-8 at Impala Club, MMUST cleaned out former Kenya Cup side Eldoret RFC in Kakamega.
Further to confirming the venue, KRU has stated that referee Bonfotra Alumasa will oversee the game from the centre and will be assisted by Noreen Liyosi and Kelvin Ndirangu.
