Three Uganda Sevens players who vanished in Germany in October after Oktoberfest 7s have found a rugby team in Germany.

Brian Kikaawa, Fred Odur and Ramathan Govule are now featuring for Munich RFC, based in Germany’s capital.

The München RFC is a German rugby union club from Munich, currently playing in the 2nd Rugby-Bundesliga. In 2015/16 season, Munchen won the Bundesliga south league.

Kikaawa, Govle and Odur made their debut on Saturday, October 28, 2017, in a 14-12 win over RC Rottweil.

Odur was named the man of the match as he crossed over for Munich's win on Saturday.

The three ran away from the rest of the squad when Uganda 7s had gone to compete at the Oktoberfest 7s.

In 2015, two Uganda rugby 7s players (Benon Kizza and Philip Pariyo) vanished in Scotland after Commonwealth games and were found playing for a suburban rugby club in Wales.

But after claiming asylum, the pair - who had been in the African nation's Sevens team - ended up in Cardiff in a hostel for asylum seekers.

They saw nearby signs for the city's St Peters RFC and started playing with their mixture of office workers, students and builders in the local Welsh league.
