USIU, Kisumu win on the road

USIU RFC tightened their grip on the top position of the KRU Championship thanks to a 20-15 over Ngong RFC in Kibiko, while in Kitale, Kisumu RFC pipped hosts Kitale RFC 14-10 to register their third win of the season.

The varsity side has now amassed 21 points, two more than second-placed Western Bulls while Kisumu remain fifth with 16 points.

USIU scored three tries, one conversion and as many penalties. Isiah Mulowa, Fred Okoth and Charles Kuka scored the five-pointers for USIU, and Kuka added the rest with his boot.

The students depart for Dodoma, Tanzania on Sunday where they will take part in the East African University games.

Bonoface and Jaycox scored for Kisumu with Lenny and Bango adding the extras.
