Championship side University of Eldoret(UoE Trojans) fly-half Leon Hazary Murimi has passed away.

Raga House learns that Hazary passed away on Friday December 22 at a Nairobi hospital. Reports on Saturday said he had complications to a surgery received for a head trauma injury while playing for his home team Embu RFC during a short holiday stint but a medical report from the doctors did not confirm that as the cause of the death.

A statement from UoE Trojans on Saturday said:

“It is with great grief that we receive the news of the demise of Leon Hazary.”

“Rest with the angels brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends in this time of grief”

He was operated last Saturday, discharged on Tuesday, then taken back to the hospital on Thursday before passing away on Friday evening.

Further details concerning burial arrangements will be released by the club.
