Uganda 7s name Kenya Cup trio for Dubai, Cape Town 7s

Three Kenyan based players have been named in the Uganda Sevens squad to compete at the Dubai and Cape Town 7s in December.

Kabras Sugar winger Philip Wokorach and Kenya Harlequins trio of Joseph Aredo, Solomon Okia and Aaron Ofoyrwoth are named by head coach Tolbert Onyango Omolo for the opening legs of the 2017/18 HSBC World Sevens Series.

The trio will miss the first, second and third rounds of the Kenya Cup. Kabras take on Mwamba, Strathmore and Nakuru RFC in their first match while Quins have Homeboyz, Nakuru and Mwamba.  

Uganda goes to Dubai as an invitational side after winning Africa 7s that also saw them qualify for Commonwealth Games and Sevens World Cup.

Eric Kasiita will captain the African champions with Michael Wokorach, Pius Ogena, James Odongo, James Ijongat and Timothy Mudoola making the squad.

At Dubai 7s, Uganda is pooled alongside Kenya Sevens, South Africa and Canada.
