With only a few days to go until the Kenya Rugby Union 2018 Annual General Meeting(AGM), the KRU has extended deadline for the submission of aspiring candidates to Monday evening.

Those wishing to vie for the positions of Vice-chairman, Secretary, treasurer and directors are required to submit their papers by 3pm on Monday March 19, 2018.

“All candidates must submit the required documents by Monday March 19, 2018 at 3.00pm,” said a statement from KRU.

Raga House understands as of Wednesday last week, Seven days to the AGM, only a few candidates had submitted their papers. These include Moses Ndale and Thomas Opiyo for the vice-chairman position, Oduor Gangla for the secretary’s position and Joshua Aroni for the treasurer’s position.

Some of the reasons why some candidates were locked out include submitting KRU certification instead of World Rugby as required while others were late as far as the deadline is concerned.

KRU vice-chairman Thomas Opiyo says the board decided to extend the deadline to Monday.

Former director Oscar Mango is back to the limelight after submitting his papers for the director’s position to compete with John Kilonzo.

They are joined by Hillary Itela who missed out in 2017. Jack Okoth is expected to submit his final documents on Monday to compete with Gangla for the secretary’s position.

erry Adembesa will also submit his documents for the treasurer’s position.
