Thrilling matches expected as Embu 7s release pools

Defending champions Mean Machine are seeded top for this weekend's Embu 7s to be held at Njukiri Showground in Embu County.

Machine, who beat Quins in 2018 to be crowned Embu 7s champions, will take on fellow Championship side Strathmore Leos, Homeboyz II and nationwide side Kiambu RFC.

Teams will be using Embu 7s to prepare for the 2019 national sevens circuit that kicks-off on Saturday, June 20 with Kakamega 7s hosted by Western Bulls and Kabras Sugar.

Embu 7s pool B will see Menengai Oilers renew their latest sevens rivarly with Mwamba RFC with Wakanda Makueni and Chuka Vikings completing the pool.

National sevens circuit champions Homeboyz will take on rivals Nondies in pool C as 2017 finalists Northern Suburbs and Meru RFC are other teams in the pool.

Top Fry Nakuru, Catholic Monks, hosts Embu and former Kenya Cup side Thika RFC make up pool D. The likes of Murang'a RFC and Stormers will compete in division II.
