St.Mary's Yala has gone down 7-8 to Kakamega High in their second match at the ongoing School games at Kangaru School, Embu.
Kakamega's win means they sail to semis with a game to go. The remaining game will be against Alliance at 9am on Thursday. St.Mary's Yala points were courtesy of a penalty after fullback Iana Manoa was neck-tackled by Emmanuel Sakwa who was also sent to the bin for referee to give Yala the 7 points.
Kakamega however replied with a five pointer 10 minutes before halftime to trail 5-7 at the interval. Victor Gachana's penalty in the second half was the all points Kakamega needed to register theier second win in the competition.
St.Mary's Yala will wait till Thursday to confirm whether they will proceed to semis when they take on Miathene.
Menengai High are also through to semis after picking their second win, 58-3 victory over Galana. On Tuesday they beat Kangaru Schol 45-3.
Menengai will play Upper Hill on Thursday to decide who finishes top in pool B.
Alliance and Miathene played to a 10-all draw later on Wednesday after both sides had lost their opening matches on Tuesday.
