Driftwood 7s defending champions Sportpesa Quins has named a 20-man squad for the National Sevens Circuit set to kick-off on Saturday September 2, 2017.
The Joash Odhalo coached side will be captained by Eric Shikuku where he will be assisted by former Quins captain Tony Mutai and Kenya Sevens international Eden Agero.
Jared Owinyo and Roxy Dan Suchi make the squad as well as Ginton Adongo scrum-half Godfrey Okoth and Stanley Lunani.
Pius Shiundu, Patrice Agunda, Frank Wanyama, Newton Partet, Sosthine Oloo, Max Theuri, Kevin Angote and Simeon Malaba are others in the squad.
“Shikuku despite his age commands respect from his team mates, possesses leadership qualities and has had tremendous growth in the short version of the game. He has been a key player for Quins over the last three seasons,” Joash Odhalo told Quins media.
Kenya Harlequins, who ended up third in 2015 with 75 points improved to finish second with 103 points in 2016 as Impala Saracens improved from 69 points and a fifth place to end up third with 97 points.
“Preparations have gone well for both S&C and technically. We've had a few training games and had a feel of what we are up against, for us we are focused on firing our cylinders from the first tournament which we won last year by being efficient and executing what we have worked on. The rest is having the right attitude come game time and we will be always Sure, Strong, Superior," concluded Odhalo as quoted by Quins media.
