South Coast Pirates have named their team to take on Mean Machine at the University of Nairobi grounds this Saturday.

The team will play its first game of the season after the opening fixture scheduled to be played against JKUAT postponed to a later date.

Head Coach Kenny Andola has named an exciting match day squad for the fixture, which will also mark the first time these two sides meet. Aiming to get off to a winning start, Andola has selected his best available sides after a gruesome preseason and several inter-club matches which have provided the coach with a long shot to assess his players further before naming the travelling squad.

Captain Derrick Mambili will lead the side from his regular eighth man position and join him in the back row are flankers Benjamin Luta and Ibrahim Kanji who are named at blindside Ann openside flanker respectively. Clinton Machero, Peter Ochieng and Ramtu all get the nod in the front row and completing the front five are locks Charles Okwemba and Ken Wambua.

As the halfbacks selected, James Mnala and Kevin Amiani will dictate play and direction of the team by looking to move the pack around the paddock as well as bringing into action an exciting backline that includes Kenya U20 player Charles Tendwa who is named to start alongside Humphrey Lugara in the midfield.

Twins Marko and Luka Amani will feature in the back three together with Joseph Musyoki who has been named to start on the left wing.

On the bench, three players will be hoping to get their first Championship minutes in South Coast Pirates colours. Elphance Njere, Emmanuel Taura and Simon Saha have been picked on the bench for potential first appearances as forward cover together with Timothy Osija and Daniel Mwadime.

Oscar Agutu, Jacob Adera and Steven Ongeri complete the replacements bench.
