Kenya Simbas players are considering boycotting the final repechage game against Hong Kong on Friday November 19, 2022 over unpaid allowances.
Raga House is reliably informed that the Simbas players have not trained this week and only had a touch due to the failure by Kenya Rugby Union(KRU) to pay their allowances since they got to Dubai.
A close source that spoke to Raga House said KRU was meant to pay the players USD150 per week since they went to Dubai and USD100 per matchday but nothing has reached the 31 players' pockets.
"If we play the game against Hong Kong then KRU will never pay us the owed allowances. There's no motivation to play at all or to train. DoR Thomas Odundo was here before leaving for New Zealand but there's nothing he said. We've been here for three weeks and nothing has found our pockets," the source said.
Kenya Simbas play Hong Kong at 3pm on Friday after losing 85-0 to Portugal last week. Portugal and US will contest the final ticket to the Rugby World Cup 2023 on Friday at 5.30pm.
