Geoffrey Ominde scored on debut as Menengai Oilers beat Mwamba RFC 30-14 on matchday 10 of the 2019/20 Kenya Cup regular season in Nakuru on Sat Jan 11.

Oilers’ win sees them climb to top five on 29 points leapfrogging Mwamba.

Austin Sikutwa was the man of the afternoon bagging a penalty, try and a conversion with Derrick Keyoga also on scoresheet.

Mwamba led 5-7 at the interval after Ronnie Omondi’s try but Oilers would go 30-7 up before Daniel Taabu converted Elvis Namusasi’s try that was too late for any sort of a comeback.

Mwamba’s next match is at home against Top Fr Nakuru while Menengai Oilers will be away to Impala Saracens.

In Nairobi, struggling Kenya Harlequin registered their third win of the season as they beat Kisumu RFC 45-15.

This rare win sees Quins climb one position up to ninth on 17 points as a result of Western Bulls’ defeat to Nondies. Kisumu stay bottom with five points.

Quins will look to maintain constituency when they head to Kabras while Kisumu’s search for a second win continues at home against defending champions KCB on matchday 11.
