The KCB squad to take on Homeboyz in the fifth round of the 2017/18 Kenya Cup has been unveiled with the tight-five having only one change from the side that beat Nakuru RFC.
Martin Owila drops to the bench to be replaced by Nick Ongeri.
Brian Nyikuli will start from the bench meaning Davies Chenge starts on the blindside and Peter Waitere on the openside. Waitere started at eight in Nakuru but Kenya Sevens former captain Andrew Amonde is available to start.
Amonde has been out of action since Christie 7s and his return is also a boost to the Kenya Sevens who head to Sydney Sevens later this month.
Head coach Curtis Olago names Ahmed Shaban to start at fly-half to replace Essau Otieno while Brina Omondi comes in for Ken Moseti.
Jacob Ojee and Arthur Ochieng are the day’s wingers with Darwin Mukidza starting at fullback.
Mclanhan Sikuku, Marlin Mukolwe, Stafford Abeka, George Gichure and Griffin Musila join Owila and Nyikuli on the bench.
Both teams are unbeaten, have drawn zero matches, bagged four bonus points and have 20 points in the overall standings. KCB, however, leads due to a superior point difference.
Last season’s meeting between these two sides at the Den saw Homeboyz bag a 33-24 win over KCB which saw them finish top in the standings before losing to Kabras in the semis. Kabras would lose to KCB in the final.
