Kakamega High School has topped pool A of the nationals 15s rugby after picking their third win on Thursday April 12, 2018.
Kakamega beat Alliance 42-0 in their third match meaning they finish top ahead of St.Mary's Yala.
Yala finished second after Wednesday's 18-0 win over Miathene and they will play pool B winner, either Upper Hill or Menengai. The two square out on Thursday evening to determine who finishes top in pool B.
Kakamega will play pool B runner up in semis on Friday.
In the win over Alliance, Kakamega High ran in six tries with five coming in the first half as they confirmed their place in semis. Kevin Imani, Velerian Tendwa,Philip Otieno and Jocin Omondi crossed over in the first half to see the defending champions lead 31-0 while the only try in the second half came from Emmanuel Mwinamo.
Yala scored three unconverted tries and a penalty in the first half to defeat Eastern region champions Miathene. Winger Edwin Oyoo, fullback Ian Manoa and fly-half Derrick Otieno ran scored for the 2004 national champions.
