SA, Uganda sides set for Kings of Rugby

The 2017 Kings of Rugby will conclude on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Maseno University with 14 teams set to take part.

The University of Johannesburg, who won the Egerton leg, will be making a return as well as Makerere University from Uganda. The University of Jo’burg beat Kenyatta University’s BlakBlad 17 -14 to clinch the Njoro edition.

Teams from Kenya will be USIU, Blak Blad, MKU Titans, UoE, Multimedia, Kabarak University, Mean Machine, MMUST, South Eastern Kenya, TUM Marines, Daystar Falcons and hosts Maseno University.

The 14 teams are pooled in four pools where the University of Jo’burg, Mean Machine and MMUST make pool A, USIU, MMU and SEKU are in pool B as Blad, UOE TUM Marines and Maseno clash in pool C.

MKU, Kabarak, Dedan Kimathi and Makerere University complete pool D.

USIU won Nyeri and Kaimosi legs as Blak Blad took Taveta and Maseno legs while Mean Machine won the home tournament, UoN.

Ahead of the last round, USIU, KU, MKU, Kabarak and UoE occupy the top five positions as Mean machine sit seventh, TUM Marines 10th and Daystar Falcons 11th.
