Nondies registered their best start to the Kenya Cup in recent days as they beat Menengai Oilers 28-8 in the third round on Saturday Dec 1, 2018 at Impala Club.

The win temporarily took them to the top of the Kenya Cup table with 13 points before Kabras Sugar’s game with Nakuru at 4pm.

Nondies ran in three tries, two of which was converted by Martin Juma and his three penalties against Menengai’s one try and a penalty. Steven Odhiambo and Fidel Oloo(both off a maul) got on target for the winners as Derrick Mbarire was on target for Menengai Oilers capitalizing on Ivan Chebo's mistake.

Nondies have had a perfect start after beating Homeboyz 20-14 on matchday one and ending KCB’s 20-month unbeaten run last weekend with a 27-22 win in Ruaraka.

"It was a hard game, you saw at halftime how things were," Nondies head coach Willis Ojal told Bamba Sport. "Just like I said, just keep on working, play for one another and move forward. Not yet there but we will get there."

"We couldn't handle the pressure. They kept us on our half in the second half, they kept playing better. It will be a learning process, I have a team that is skilliful but very young," said Oilers tactician Gibson Weru.

Nondies face Mwamba on matchday four  as Oilers hosts Homeboyz.
