Kenya Harlequin have been dealt a huge blow with winger Solomon Okia ruled out for the rest of the 2018/19 Kenya Cup season after undergoing a knee surgery.
The Ugandan international this week underwent surgery in Nairobi according to Quins head coach Charles Cardovillis.
"He should be out for the rest of the season. We won't rush him so as to make sure he comes back bigger, better and strong for both Quins and Uganda."
Okia suffered the injury during the 35-15 Kenya Cup win over Homeboyz on Saturday Dec 1, 2018.
Uganda will be hoping the winger makes a speedy recovery in time for Hong Kong 7s where they will be seeking qualification to the HSBC World Sevens Series.
Okia joins fly-half Isaac Adimo on the injury list with the latter having missed the better part of the 2018/19 season.
"Just like Okia, we will work on him to come back for the next pre-season. He's on his feet, running about. If he recovers faster than anticipated, we can look at using him," added Cardovillis.
