Top Kenya Cup side Kenya Harlequin is under an interim committee ahead of election in December 2018, Raga House learns.

The interim committee came on board recently during a Special General Meeting (SGM) called after an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the club failed to take off at the close of July.

With no AGM, the former office led by chair Mike Lucas lost its mandate to run office any further, following expiry of their tenure, hence the step-in by the interim committee.

"My term ended in July and the club is now preparing for an election probably by the end of December. Right now it's about putting the club in line with the Sports Act then elections can follow," said Lucas who also hinted he won't vie for the position.

Raga House is informed that the interim committee's mandate is to ensure there is no vacuum in running of club affairs till the next elections within 90 days, and to deliver a new constitution that conforms the new sports act.

From the recently held SGM, Raphael Nzomo was elected as chair of the interim committee with Herbert Mwachiro as Vice chair.

Others serving in the interim committee are Dominic Dimba (Treasurer), Mike Mbaya (Director Accounts), Victor Sudi (Director Technical), Ham Onsando (Technical Member), Stanley Omino (Clubs Secretary) and Paul Nyamodi (Legal adviser).

Mike Lucas came on board as interim chair during a stormy SGM on 31 March 2015 taking over from Edward Kinyany on a two-year term. He was deputised by former Kenya Sevens international Sidney Ashioya. Hinga Waiyaki was picked to serve as secretary as Vincent Ongera was retained as the club's treasurer.

Lucas and team then stayed on till the recent SGM.
