Quins head coach Charles Cardovillis made a whooping nine changes ahead of Saturday’s Kenya Cup matchday 10 clash with Blak Blad at Kenyatta University from 4pm.
The changes may not be necessitated by the defeat as Cardovillis says but Quins will definitely be looking to bounce back to winning ways and secure a playoff spot.
Only Tony Mutau and Paul Kioko maintain their tight-five positions as Brian Obwaya, Frank Kalwale and Hillary Baraza(moves to blindside) make way for Ayub Kimutai, Edward Oseko and Roxy Dan Suchi respectively.
Baraza and George Scott join captain Peter Misango in the backrow.
Half-backs Aaron Ofoyrwith and Matt Wanjia start ahead of Dominic Osino and Eden Agero. Other backline changes see Willy Ambaka and Frank Wanyama replaced by Jasper Ochien and Aluda Beda.
“We just needed to freshen up the squad,” said Cardovillis. “We’ve brought in more beef in the forwards. Just like every other week, we’ve prepared well and raring to go.”
Michael Ochieng and Michael Habashi are in line to make their maiden appearance for Kenya Harlequin after being named on the bench.
The defeat to Kabras left Quins still at third place with 31 points but the gap between them and KCB was increased to nine points and on the other side Nondies closed to just three.
Blad on the other side have won only two matches this season and remain in the relegation fight at position 10 with 11 points, one ahead of 11th placed Strathmore Leos.
Beril Akinyi will officiate this 4pm clash at Kenyatta University, Thika road in Nairobi.
