Kenya Harlequin have announced the resignation of head coach Charles Cardovillis.
Through a newsletter released on Saturday morning, Quins said:
“We are sad to announce the resignation of our head coach Charles Cardovillis which we have accepted and we wish him well as he pursues other interests.”
“He has been instrumental in the revival of club rugby at Quins and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
The newsletter was signed by Quins chairman, Michael Wanjala.
This comes a time Cardovillis is serving a 12-week ban from all rugby activities imposed by Kenya Rugby Union.
Quins are preparing for Floodies set for Sep 29 as preps for the new Kenya Cup season with assistant coach Benjamin Ayimba understood to be the one in charge now.
Cardovillis was appointed Quins coach at the beginning of 2018/19 Kenya Cup season and led the team to a place in the knock outs.
He has served as the director of rugby until 2017 before moving to Kabras where he finished second in the Kenya Cup.
He was let go by Kabras at the end of the season after which Quins unveiled him.
