Mike Okello from Stanbic Mwamba was named the Most Valuable Player at the close of Prinsloo 7s on Sunday 18 August, 2019 during the fourth round of the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit.

Okello delivered the sucker punch landing the deciding try in sudden death to deliver the Prinsloo 7s title after defending champions Homeboyz and Kulabu were locked 7-7 in regulation time during a repeat of the 2018 final.

Further to being named the MVP, Okello made it to the Prinsloo 7s dream team.

He becomes the second player from Mwamba to be named MVP after Billy Odhiambo who was best of all at the end of Kabeberi 7s in Meru in late July.

Okello is the third player to be named MVP this season. Vincent Onyala of KCB was the best player at Kakamega 7s and Dala 7s, events played on either side of Kabeberi.
