South Coast Pirates’ Championship resurgence continued on matchday 10 as they beat Kisumu RFC 25-18 to climb three places.

Pirates scored four tries to pick the maximum five points that sees them move from bottom of the table to 10th with 15 points.

Joseph Musyoki bagged a brace in the win with Marko Amani and Kevin Amianio also going over. The latter kicked in five points. The situation was helped by defeats to Kitale and Ngong RFc elsewhere.

Few miles from there, Mombasa RFC are up two places from 7th to 5th after beating visiting MMUST 18-15.

Mombasa led 10-5 at the interval courstey of tries from Abdallah Mwayimba and Yassin Mohammed. MMUST’s went over through fly-half Nobert Imbwani but the hosts added eight more points in the second half from Ezra Mumbo’s penalty and Newton Malenya’s try.

Mombasa’s next match is a trip to Kitale while MMUST will be home to Ngong. Pirates head to UoE while Kisumu will seek to bounce back against Egerton at home.

Ngong RFC lost 8-14 to UoE Trojans to see Trojans move to 20 points Egerton and MMUST.
