Nairobi School retained their place in next season's Prescott Cup after seeing off Strathmore School 36-22 in  relegation playoff dogfight at St. Mary's School on Tuesday 2 July, 2019.

Both schools had poor season as they propped their respective five-team pools after conjuring up four straight defeats each to confirm the playoff date.

While Nairobi School was bottom of pool B that had RVA, Ofafa Jericho, Mangu High, and was topped by Dagoretti High, Stathmore took the wooden spoon in pool A that had champions Upper Hill, Lenana School, Alliance High and Muhuri Muchiri.

While it was  lucky escape for Patch, it was end of the road for the Bandits of Strathmore who survived similar playoffs in the last two years.

Strathmore beat Githiga High 34-14 to survive in March 2017 then tore part 11-time champions St. Mary's School 62-3 in July of 2018 to stay on for the 2019 Prescott Cup.

In going down on Tuesday, Strathmore will now feature in the second tier Damu Pevu in 2020. Laiser Hill Academy - the 2013 Prescott Cup winner - are the likeliest candidates to take up their slot should they win the Damu Pevu on Saturday 6 July at St. Mary's School - unless Sunshine Secondary spring surprise on them.
