You may have seen him on the touch line as Kabras Sugar took on Homeboyz RFC in the Kenya Cup semis and wondered what he is doing there.
Former Kenya Simbas head coach Jerome Paarwater is back, but now with the 2016 champions.
Paarwater, who left the Simbas role in December 2017, has been in Kakamega for 10 days with Kabras Sugar according to head coach Charles Cardovillis.
“We are working out a partnership with Western Province,” added Cardovillis.
Paarwater is the DHL Western Province U21 coach.
The partnership is understood to be more so like the one Western Province signed with Kenya Rugby Union in 2012 focussed on player development. Paarwater arrived after that to take charge of executing the national 15s team programme.
“We are looking at technical support/echnage and also open an avenue to send players to play, training camps etc.
Paarwater may return for the Kenya Cup final between Kabras and KCB as Kabras awaits to pen the deal officialy with Western Province.
“Its now just a matter of putting pen to paper and ironing the details of the partnership,” added Cardovillis.
