Experienced back Charles Kanyi will lead Nondies charges in the first leg of the national 7s circuit 2017 edition, Driftwood 7s.

Nondies make a return to the top tier tournament after taking part in division II last year where they finished second.

Nondies are boosted by the return of Australia based Oscar Dennis. Uganda back James Odong, who was a key cog for Uganda Cranes in the just completed Africa Gold Cup, also made the cut. Eighth man Simon Ngugi is the only forward in the longer version of the game and would be expected to alongside the other seasoned players guide the young triumvirate of Edwin Mwaseru, Phares Mbadi and Brian Amaita.

The Red Lions will, however, to make do without fly half Biko Adema and Dennis Ombachi, both of whom have represented the country on the international stage.

Biko picked an injury a few weeks ago when the country hosted Hong Kong. The Foxy Ojal coached side has intimated his side are targeting a top five finish this season; they are in pool D alongside Strathmore Leos, Kabras and KCA University.
