Nondies have completed the signing of fast rising centre Maurice Murimi from Championship side Mean Machine.
Murimi links up with Nondies in the first week of January and could make his maiden appearance on Saturday Jan 11 against Western Bulls in the 10th round of the 2019/20 Kenya Cup.
He joins Nondies after four years at Machine where he joined one month after completing KCSE at Ikuu Boys in November 2015.
Nondies team manager Kevin Were confirmed the January signing saying they “wanted to bolster the midfield” as Kenya Cup enters the second stage of the season.
“I have a positive energy about this move,” Murimi told Raga House.
“I feel great that I was considered by the Nondioes management to be part of their squad. It was my dream team since 2015 when I cleared High School.”
‘I look upon giving the best I can tor the team. I think new environment and team will motivate me to joining the Simbas team.”
Murimi played key role as Mean Machine earned promotion back to the Kenya Cup in 2018 as well as winning Varsity League, Floodies and other titles.
He was named the most valuable backline during the 2018 Varsity League and Floodies Universities MVP.
“My target is to help Nondies get Kenya Cup top 4 and personal to cultivate my chances of joining the national team.”
Nondies haven’t had the best start to the season as they have managed only three wins in nine matches played to sit eighth with 16 points.
