Nondies have been deducted 10 points for fielding ineligible players in the 2017/18 Kenya Cup.
A statement from Kenya Cup said this had happened in the opening five Kenya Cup matches contrary to the provisions of the KRU regulation.
In the five matches, Nondies had beaten Strathmore Leos and Mombasa RFC with the deduction dropping them to 10th in the standings with only one point. They had lost to Homeboyz, Impala and Blak Blad.
“Nondescripts have deducted 10 points for fielding ineligible players during their opening five Kenya Cup fixtures contrary to the provisions of the K.R.U regulations.
The decision sees the 17 time Kenya Cup champions drop to 10th in the latest league standings,” read the statement.
They are now below Mwamba, Nakuru, Blak Blad and Strathmore Leos.
The statement from Kenya Cup did not specify who the ineligible players were. At the start of the Kenya Cup season, Nondies signed Fidel Oloo and Levy Ochieng from Kabras Sugar while Moses Begi, Mark Ongayo and Franz Obudo joined from Blak Blad.
Nondies are expected to appeal the deduction on Monday, January 22 according to team manager Kevin Were who said they had paid for all their new players.
