Following trials held on Saturday 1 June at the RFUEA Grounds, Kenya Rugby Union has released a provisional band of 44 players to be considered for national duty this season.
Newly appointed head coach Paul Odera will tap into the numbers for a squad to defend the Elgon Cup over Uganda on 22nd June in Kisumu and the return leg on 13th July in Kampala, Uganda.

The squad is a blend of youth and experience, with lads who have featured for the Kenya U20 side in recent years getting senior call ups.
Emmanuel Silungi of Homeboyz, George Maranga of KCB, Samuel Asati and Geoffrey Okwach from KCB, Jeff Mutuku (Kenya Harlequins), Ian Njenga (Nondies), Beldad Ogeta (Menengai Oilers) and Dominic Coulson are some of the lads that led Kenya to the Barthes Cup in April who have been called in to the team.
Collins Injera of Mwamba, regulars George Nyambua, Elkens Musonye, Joseph Odero, Samson Onsomu, Oliver Mang’eni, Peter Kilonzo and Kenya 7s flyer and skipper Jacob Ojee are the experienced hands also called up.
Some of the familiar names missing from Odera's initial outfit are that of two former skippers Wilson K'opondo and Davies Chenge.
The team kicks training on Wednesday 5th June at the RFUEA Grounds with a skills and conditioning session. They will then have sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings leading up to the 22nd of June.
