New 7s World Cup match ball launched

Performance and innovation is at the heart of the official match ball for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in San Francisco, launched by Gilbert and World Rugby today.

The world’s top men’s and women’s sevens teams will benefit from the most technologically-advanced sevens ball on the planet, when they compete to be crowned world champions on 20-22 July.

Developed exclusively for the high-octane, skills showcase that is sevens, the Gilbert Synergie XV-6, is the only sevens-specific match ball on the market, featuring the patented Synergie XV-6 grip that offers an enhanced grip ideally suited to the fast-paced nature and handling of rugby sevens.

The match ball and the official replica ball features the distinctive tournament look and feel within a striking design that showcases the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and a star visual that represents the gathering of the world’s top players in the ‘golden city’.
