Nakuru 10s attracts more than 35 teams

Up to 35 teams have expressed interest to participate in this year’s Great Rift 10-aside tournament set for 25-27 March 2016 at Nakuru Showground.
Defending champions and hosts Nakuru will be joined by last year losing finalist and Kenya Cup defending champions KCB as well as 11 other Kenya Cup teams.

12 Nationwide teams are set to take part in Division two to be held at Nakuru high school with four teams from the Nairobi Nationwide region already in.
Nakuru beat back-to-back Champions KCB 5-0 in the final to win the tournament for the first time since 1995.

KCB, Strathmore Leos, Menengai Cream Homeboyz, Mwamba RFC, Mean Machine, Kabras Sugar, Blakblad, Kenya Harlequins, Western Bulls, Impala Saracens and Bungoma Sharks are the Kenya Cup teams in division one.

Nationwide clubs to join Kenya Cup teams in Division one include USIU, Catholic Monks, Masaku, Eldoret RFC, JKUAT Cougars, Comras, UOE, TUK, Bungoma RFC and Kisumu RFC who are yet to confirm.

Division two teams are Daystar Falcons, Kabarak, MKU Thika, MKU Nairobi, Brumbies, KPA Eldoret, Kiambu, Kisii RFC, Moi University, Mumias, Kenya School of Law and Masinde Muliro.

In 2015, MKU Thika won the Division II final beating Brumbies 17-15 as Daystar Falcons won the plate with a 7-0 win over Kisii and Kemu Nairobi bagged the Bowl after seeing off Molo 22-5.
