Mwamba partners with Okolea

Kenya Cup side Mwamba Rugby Club has, on Tuesday 22 May 2018, launched scholarship  programme in partnership with Okolea International, a finance company that has revolutionized financial solutions in the area of digital loans.

The scholarship programme is tailored to cushion Mwamba Rugby Club as they embark on an education plan that will see players and staff enroll in courses that will uplift their sporting and  personal lives. The programme will sponsor playing and technical staff in various academic and technical programme  for the duration of the sponsorship.

Okolea has revolutionized financial solutions

"There is a need to help our staff ameliorate their technical skills as well as equip them with a trade and skills that can help them in their daily lives away from the Sport. Okolea International has the potential to  help us meet our training needs through their unique sponsorship," said club’s president Mr Alvas Onguru.

 "Peter Muraya, MD of Okolea International was equally excited about the prospect of the partnership terming it as landmark. “We are excited  to have partnered with one of the best rugby clubs in the country in this initiative. What is more thrilling is the fact that our partnership will focus on skills development of their staff, both players and technical. This partnership fits perfectly well in  our vision of becoming a disruptor  in the financial industry. We  have revolutionized sports partnership in the country,” he said.

Earlier in May Mwamba joined hands with lead marketing agency EXP Kenya to grow Mwamba's commercial value. 

Stanbic Bank

In March of 2017 the club got the backing of leading banker Stanbic with a shirt deal for the rest of that season to the tune of Kshs 3 million.  

Though unveiled in March of that year the bank had signed up as the club's shirt sponsor in December of 2016. Due to exemplary on-pitch results that season the partnership with Stanbic was renewed at the onset of 2018 for another year. 

Modern Coast

In August of 2016 Mwamba RFC acquired Modern Coast Bus Company as their new transport partners for the next one year. The partnership entailed the lead transporter availing a 62-seater bus to the club to ferry the Men, Women and Age-grade teams to all their matches and activities such as the Sevens circuit, Kenya Cup, Enterprise, Mwamba Cup and any other tournament and matches. It was accompanied with a Kshs 2 million top-up.
