1983 Kenya Cup winners Mwamba RFC have finally won a league game in the 2017/2018 season.

The win was a 74-03 victory over bottom-placed Mombasa RFC on Saturday, January 13, 2017, at Railways club. They move out of relegation zone to swap with Kisii RFC who lost 77-0 to Impala Saracens.

Having lost to Quins, Kabras, Strathmore and Impala, Kulabu gave Mombasa RFC no chance 12 tries and seven conversions to kick-start the year in a winning way.

Next week they host champions KCB before heading to Menengai Cream Homeboyz after that.

Marvin Odembo, Steve Sikuta, Daniel Taabu, Ronnie Omondi and Ken Hands ran their tries in the first half with Odembo and Taabu bagging braces.

The second half saw Paul Wahome, Kevin Atandi, 23, Sikuta and Taabu cross over to complete the whitewash as Taabu came through with conversions.

Mombasa RFC have now gone for five matches without a win and a deficit of 264 points.
