Mukidza, Ojee ruled out of Mwamba clash

KCB’s Darwin Mukidza has been ruled out of the round six of the Kenya Cup against Mwamba on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Railways club.

The bankers will be looking to record their sixth win a row in the 2017/2018 Kenya Cup season.

They meet a Mwamba side that has won only one match this season, against bottom-placed Mombasa RFC last weekend.

Winger Jacob Ojee and flanker Davies Chenge are also ruled out of the clash with KCB team manager Ronney Kangetta saying: “Ojee got some cuts last week against Homeboyz and was stitched up and had some teeth also knocked so he needs to recover this week” 

“Mukidza, had a shoulder knock during training so resting him. Chenge has some family commitment to handle this weekend.” 

With Mukidza out, Elpas Otieno starts at fullback, former Kenya Simbas captain Brian Nyikuli replaces Chenge while youngster Michael Kimwele takes over from Ojee on the left wing.

The tight-five, Oscar Solano, Peter Karia, Curtis Lilako, Francis Mwita and Nick Ongeri, is unchanged while fly-half Ahmed Shaban and Scrum-half Michael Wanjala get the nod to start again.

 Martin Owila, Elly Mukaizi, Marlin Mukolwe, Brian Omondi, Collins Wanjala, McLanhan Sikuku, Griffin Musila and Nelson Nyandat are named as the finishers.
