Muhuri Muchiri win EA 7s as Laiser Hill take 15s title

Muhuri Muchiri have made history by winning the East Africa Sevens title by beating Jinja SS 14-7 on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Uganda.

Texas ran in two converted tries against Jinja’s sole converted touch down to win the title won by St.Peter’s Mumias in 2016.

Agwambo Kevin and Martin Mutiso bagged tries for Muhuri Muchiri with Amon Wamalwa adding the extras.

Laiser champions

Laiser Hill Academy won the 15s version after beating St.Mary’s Kisubi 64-0 in their final match on Friday.

Samuel Were crossed over five times as Johnstone Olindi bagged a brace.

On their way to the title, Laiser Hill beat Upper Hill 12-7, Namilyango 29-12, Kakamega 42-19, Ntare 60-0 and Mbarara 60-0.

Last year’s winners Kakamega High finished second with Nairobi champions Upper Hill settling for third.
