Topfry Nakuru RFC are ready for their Impala Floodies quarter-final showdown against Menengai Cream Homeboyz, head tactician Mitch Ocholla said on Monday.
Nakuru, Ocholla opined, have been preparing well, improving the side's confidence in the process; he was, however, quick to add that their opponents are a good side will offer them a run for their money.
"We are raring to go. Training has been going on well and the boys are motivated...playing against Homeboyz will help us gauge ourselves ahead of the Kenya cup.
"They are a good side, very physical and moving and we will have to be good all round if we are to beat them."
Homeboyz, the former international said, were unlikely to be affected by the tentative absence of 15 of their key players, saying that they are a side with a huge pool of players and the fact that they won the Enterprise Cup in 2018 means that their second-string side can step up when called upon.
"Homeboyz is a side with good depth and the fact that their team two won the Enterprise Cup means that they are unlikely to be affected by the absence of those players,"
Geoff Ominde, Mojo disclosed, is likely to miss the Impala Saracens-hosted tourney, due to an ankle injury; other notable absentees will be Egerton University pair of Steve Wamae and Antony Oyugi- both are currently representing the university in the ongoing Varsity Cup.
"Ominde is currently out...I don't think they (Oyugi and Wamae) will play because they have not been training with Nakuru."
Nakuru return to the premier pre-season tourney, having pulled out of last year's edition to grief the loss of their long-serving loose-forward, Michael Okombe.
