Mojo: A Chance to rekindle ourselves
By Eric Njiru | Tue 29 Aug, 2017 08:23

Top Fry Nakuru RFC head coach Mitch 'Mojo' Ochola says they will be looking to rekindle themselves back to life when they take to Driftwood 7s on Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Nakuru is in pool A with series defending champions Homeboyz, Blak Bald and championship side Western Bulls.

“It’s going to be a good one, same pool with the champions but we are looking to rekindle ourselves back to life,” said Mitch.

Nakuru RFC won the sevens circuit in 2015 but was a no-show in 2016 after collecting 38 points from the first four legs.

“Homeboyz are a force to reckon with. They have put in a lot of work and we are also doing our best. Day one will be a good measure of where we are”

Nakuru RFC and Blak Blad were in the same pool in last year’s Driftwood 7s and it was the Kenyatta University that won 12-. Wanyore went ahead to lose 12-7 to Impala and Makureni 19-7.

“Blak Blad are a team that is coming up, they are no pushovers so for us is to switch the training mode now to competition mode. I don’t want to count chicks before they hatch. We are going step by step and the target is to go through day one then competition starts on day two,” added Ochola.

Nakuru won Bowl in 2016’s Driftwood 7s after beating Menengai Oilers 14-0. They had seen off Mean Machine 12-0 and Daystar 29-0.
