The cup final of the 2018 Christie Sevens Division Two category will be contested by two university sides; Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and Egerton University following completion of the second round of knockout matches on day two.

The final will precede the Division One cup final pitting hosts Kenya Harlequins and overall circuit champions Homeboyz in the last piece of action before curtains fall on the 2018 National Sevens Circuit.

To reach the cup final, MMUST fended off challenges from Blak Blad whom they defeated 14-7 in the quarter final and later overcame Nzoia Sugar Webuye 30-0 in the semi final. For Egerton, a 19-0 quarter final win over Comras and in the semis were enough to secure a slot in the decider.

In the fifth place semi finals, Vandals thumped Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad 31-12 to return to winning ways following a shocking 10-19 loss to Nzoia Sugar in the cup quarter final. Vandals will battle it out with MKU Thika, who lost 5-12 to Makueni RFC in the last eight.

Another campus derby also beckons in the Challenge trophy final, with Catholic Monks facing MKU Nairobi alias Stingers following 19-26-7 semi final wins over Embu RFC and Mbale RFC respectively. To advance to the semis, Catholic Monks defeated JKUAT 12-0 while Stingers were 17-7 winners against Daystar Falcons. The aforementioned Daystar and JKUAT will contest for 13th place after respective 19-7 and 24-0 wins over Administration Police (AP) and Technical University of Kenya (TUK).

The Spear final will pit CITAM Kisumu and BATUK after the two sides won their semi final matches 24-17 and 12-5 against Nakuru KITI and Ngong respectively.
