Misango on brace as Quins out-run Blak Blad

Peter Misango bagged a brace as Kenya Harlequins beat hosts Blak Blad 48-20 in the fourth round of the Kenya Cup on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

Quins bagged a winning bonus after running eight tries and four conversions against Blak Blad’s two converted tries and a penalty.

It was Blak Blad’s second defeat on the road after going down to KCB on match day three while Quins have now won three matches in a row since falling to Homeboyz on match day one.

Three quick tries from Stanley Lunani, Misango and Brian Beckham saw Quins lead 17-7 at the break as Blad’s Lionel Ajiliti had a drop goal and a penalty attempts fail.

Levy Amunga was introduced in the second half making a quick impact as Blad crossed over to bring the game to 14-17 after the conversion.

Quins would, however, hit back through five unanswered tries by Simon Malaba, Max Theuri, Sosthine Oloo and Misango as Amunga slotted in a penalty in between.

Amunga’s penalty attempt in the second half was unsuccessful although he would get his next kick to make it 20-48.

Kenya Cup takes a break till January 13, 2017.
