Menengai Oilers win national sevens circuit

Menengai Oilers won the national sevens circuit for the first time in their history after reaching the final at Kakamega 7s on Sunday July 17, 2022 in Kakamega County.

Oilers went into Kakamega 7s on 94 points, four ahead of second place KCB whom they beat 17-12 in the first semifinal. By reaching the cup final Oilers are assured of at least 19 points to potentially finish on 113 points while KCB could only earn a maximum of 17 points by winning the bronze to finish on 107 points.

The Kenya Cup finalists won the Prinsloo 7s in Nakuru last week while KCB won the first leg of the circuit- Kabeberi 7s. Mwamba won Driftwood 7s in Mombasa, Strathmore Leos bagged Christie 7s while Homeboyz were winners at Dala 7s.

Menengai Oilers will play either Kabras Sugar after the latter beat Strathmore Leos 14-10 in the second semifinal to reach their first final of the season. KCB will take on Strathmore Leos in the bronze final.
