Mangu II dethroned back-to-back champions Ofafa Jericho after with a 7-3 win at St. Mary's School on Saturday 24 June to be crowned the new Damu Changa kings.
Ofafa led 3-0 from an Isaac Maloba penalty but into the second half Mangu - supported by a true supporters cast, went over with a pushover try from Ian Muguna Munene. Simon Omondi added the extras.
Not only did Mangu win the title, they also provided the most valuable player in full back Victor Mwangi.
Speaking after the game, head coach Nathan Kaula said; "I am proud of the boys as they took it upon themselves to beat the two time champions. They put in hard work and it paid off."
For a place in the final Mangu beat Upper Hill 13-0 while Ofafa stepped past last year's finalist Alliance 15-5 in Kikuyu.
