Makueni RFC and Egerton Wasps emerged as big winners of day one action at the Prinsloo Sevens Division II tournament as the race for quarter final slots hots up.

Makueni, 21-14 winners over Webuye in the curtain raiser maintained their imperious form thus far in the series and despite a 7-7 draw against Daystar Falcons in their opening match, the team made light work out of Stormers as they secured a 24-17 win over KCAA Stormers to remain unblemished.

The script was nearly the same for Egerton Wasps who secured back to back wins over Multimedia University and Kiambu despite falling to an opening 19-5 defeat at the hands of Kisumu.

Nationwide side Comras should also have sealed a perfect day one but a 5-0 loss to Citam Kisumu meant they were unable to back up their previous wins over Eldoret and JKUAT.
