The Kenya Rugby Women’s league 2016 season is set to kick-off on February 7 with more than seven teams taking part.
Women’s and Age Grade Coordinator for Kenya Rugby Union Nick Aballa says discussions have been ongoing by the concerned parties with a view of getting the league to start on Sunday 7 February.
"The number of teams as well format and venues for the Women's League to use are still being discussed and the final planning for the league will be known after a final meeting on Friday," said Abala
Mwamba RFC (pictured) beat KCB Lionesses to the inaugural league title in 2015 winning the league with 53 points and only losing two matches in 19 games.

Homeboyz and COMRAS have been attending recent meetings and it’s believed they could be added to the league that, in the first time of asking in 2015 had five teams competing.
KCB finished second with 49 points, Kenya Harlequins came third with 38 points, Nakuru fourth with 29 points while USIU closed at fifth with 17 points.
