The Kenya Rugby Union will propose one official to the local organizing committee of the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) president Paul Tergat unveiled the team on Friday in Nairobi but KRU was yet to send a name to the committee.

Athletics Kenya president Jackson Tuwei is the Chef De Mission of the committee that has nine officials to oversee Team Kenya in the Commonwealth Games to be held in Australia in 2018.

The official from KRU will be the deputy executive officer working under Francis Mutuku. Director John Kilonzo unsuccessfully ran for the position of secretary general in the just concluded NOCK elections.

The Kenya Rugby Union will send Kenya Lionesses and Kenya Sevens to the Commonwealth Games.

Former Kenya Sevens star and Mwamba RFC player Humphrey Kayange was elected unopposed to the NOCK as Athlete's representatives.

Kenya Sevens qualified for the Commonwealth Games from the 2016/2017 HSBC World Sevens Series while their female counterparts finished second at the Africa 7s.
