Ngong Warriors RFC will hold a benefit dinner on Friday 2 November, 2018 at the Bounty Hotel in Ngong starting 7pm EAT.
The club will feature in the second tier KRU Championship for a second straight year and are calling on the rugby fraternity to help fund-raise for the upcoming season that kicks off on Saturday 17 November.
According to team skipper Endro Otieno the season round the bend requires monies, and with no particular sponsor, the club has to fund raise to stay maneuver through the seven-month league.
"We will hold a fundraiser to help raise some cash as we wait on sponsors. Towards this we will have a club dinner on 2 November at the Bounty Hotel in Ngong to help the club raise cash to survive the season." said Endro to Raga House
For that purpose, the club has issued out an M-pesa till no 132728 to allow the larger rugby family help out.
Ngong's call comes at a time another championship side Kitale RFC have confirmed they are in dire straits due to lack of finances, and could pull out of the same league altogether, unless otherwise.
Ngong will be contesting the championship alongside Kisii RFC, Mombasa RFC, two promoted sides - Kitale and Masinde Muliro (MMUST), USIU, Western Bulls, South Coast Pirates, Egerton and Catholic Universities, Kisumu RFC and University of Eldoret (UoE).
Ngong will contest pool A alongside USIU, Catholic University, Mombasa RFC, South Coast Pirates, Egerton University. Thye start the season away to Catholic Monks in the opening weekend and will host Kisumu RFC in the second weekend.
Pool A: USIU, Catholic University, Mombasa RFC, South Coast Pirates, Egerton University and Ngong RFC.
Pool B: Western Bulls, Kisumu RFC, Kisii RFC, University of Eldoret (UoE), MMUST, Kitale RFC.
