Kitale, MMUST reach nationwide semis, Suburbs knocked out

Kitale RFC and MMUST have booked their place in the Nationwide semifinals after winning their quarterfinal ties on Saturday May 5, 2018. 

Kitale beat Central champions Kiambu RFC 17-10 after they had tied 10-10 until the last play. Charles Chege and Peter Karanja had scored for Kiambu but Jeremy Chimwani sent his side to semis with a last minute try that he converted. 

He had converted John Nganga's try in the first half as well as scoring a penalty to lead 10-5.

MMUST, the team from Western region, had a good afternoon seeing off TUM 39-10 to progress to semis. 

Northern Suburbs have been shocked by Eldoret RFC losing 18-17 while Maseno went down 14-13 to Swara in Nairobi.

In semis, Kitale RFC will play Swara in the first semifinal as Eldoret RFC takes on MMUST. 

Nationwide finalists will be promoted to the Championship to replace JKUAT Cougars and Moi  University who have been relegated while losing semifinalists will head to promotion playoff with Ngong RFC and UoE Trojans.
