Kisumu RFC secure Kenya Cup promotion

Lenny Obiero of Kisumu RFC scored a three-pointer in the sudden death to secure a promotion back to the Kenya Cup after beating hosts Catholic Monks 11-14 in the Championship semis on Saturday May 11, 2019.

This required the game to go top sudden death after playing to an 11-11 draw after the 80th minute.

Kisumu will now take on Western Bulls in the Championship final on Saturday May 18 after the latter saw off USIU 16-22 in the second semifinal earlier on the day.

They replace Mean Machine and Strathmore Leos in the Kenya Cup after the two suffered relegation towards the end of the regular season. 

Kisumu and Bulls join Kabras Sugar as the tree teams on the Western side of the Country with two other based in Nakuru and the rest in Nairobi.
